Euros, cards and getting the best rate
Lanzarote uses the euro, and cards are accepted almost everywhere — supermarkets, restaurants, excursions and the ferry. You’ll still want some cash for the market, the Papagayo national park entry and smaller bars around the island.
For changing cash in Playa Blanca, there are a few shops dotted around the town centre. Generally the rate you get will be 2 cents less than the market rate.

Our tip: Wherever you withdraw at the ATM or pay using your own UK card, always choose to be charged in euros rather than pounds.
